Sun Xiaowei, who has just graduated from college, has two simple wishes: to find a job in City A that can support herself, and to give advance notice to the landlord the next time he raises the rent. Until late one night, she mistakenly entered a subway station that did not exist on the map, and because of a casual comment, the entire station underwent even more outrageous changes. The next day, a group of people calling themselves the "Abnormal Administration" came to the door. "Ms. Sun, we think you are very suitable for this unit." "What is your main responsibility?" "Handling unusual events." "Is it dangerous?" "Occasionally. Only two official vehicles were sacrificed last month." In this way, Sun Xiaowei became a trainee investigator of the Anomaly Bureau. From then on, her tasks include but are not limited to: persuading a runaway shadow to return to its owner; investigating a convenience store that is only open on Saturdays; preventing the elevator from sending employees to non-existent floors; and re-issuing a work permit for an orange cat who firmly believes that he is the section chief. The good news is that the unit provides food and accommodation, five insurances and one housing fund, and all of my colleagues are talented people. The bad news is that her director, who looks to be in his twenties, has unknown origins and occasionally forgets that he is the director. At first, Sun Xiaowei just wanted to get through the internship in peace. Only later did she discover that under the brightly lit night of City A, some of the rules she was used to taking for granted were quietly changing. But before saving the world, she must first make up for the reimbursement form from her last mission. After all, exceptions can be unreasonable, but finances cannot.
