Land Ecological Chain

The old farmer stayed with an old oak tree that had been struck by lightning in an abandoned farm in Sand County. He recorded the return of the cranes every spring, the wild flowers on the grassland in summer, and the disappearance of the singing of wild geese in late autumn. The logger wanted to buy the old oak tree, but he refused. Trees fall in the winter wind and turn into soil to nourish the next year's grass. He understood: Land is not a commodity.
