Small Farmhouse in Town

Lao Lin, a retired teacher, opened a picture book library in the town and read "Anne of Green Gables" to left-behind children every afternoon. He noticed that the little girl in the old red dress huddled in the corner never asked questions. When she read Anne's words, "Imagination is more important than knowledge," the girl suddenly raised her hand: "Teacher, if I have two morning glories on my braid, can it be considered a red hair?" Lao Lin wore a red ribbon the next day. The girl took it and tied it in her braid. On the way home, she looked at the sunset and said to herself: "This is the sunset at Green Gables - no, this is my own." Later, the girl came every Saturday, and Lao Lin named her "Little Annie". On the day he finished reading the book, the girl pointed to the mint on his window sill and said, "I won't be here tomorrow, but I will take a look at Green Gables when I pass by."
