Dark Arts Master: My Sect Leader Is a Contract Panel

“Pseudo-DnD, warlocks, a small ensemble cast” After his soul transmigrates to another world, Edwin inherits the body of a man who died on an adventurer’s commission and unexpectedly binds himself to a mysterious, shattered pact. A warlock’s mark burns into his left hand, awakening his warlock powers. But unlike warlocks who sell themselves to demons, ancient gods, or other supreme beings, he has no patron at all, only a pact panel. Once he learns how to wield this mysterious power, he breaks free of the limitations that leave traditional warlocks lopsided in their abilities. He can gradually master an ancient, mysterious system of warlock magic: the four schools of Pain, Darkness, Pacts, and Mystery. High-level warlock magic is immensely powerful, but it can still run out of control and backfire if the caster is inexperienced or unable to bear the strain. In this era, the Dark Overlord has been slain by a hero, the forces of darkness have fallen apart, and the Church of Holy Light has risen in their wake. It preaches righteousness while purging heretics, all the while conducting secret experiments. Warlocks, good or evil, face only one fate if exposed: an invitation to the “bonfire party.” Disguised as a shadow mage, Edwin sets out on adventures with companions who each bear their own destiny. He gathers fragments of the pact to uncover the truth of the ancient past, while taking great care to keep his identity hidden. He must not be exposed. He must not lose control. And so begins the journey of a patronless warlock, caught between light and darkness.
