Before the observation window is closed There is a profession that only exists in the narrowest gap of an era. Such as a lighthouse keeper, such as a sonar operator on a submarine, such as a window reader. When the first true reasoning model began to "think", humans found that they had an extra window: the machine wrote the reasoning process in a long chain of thinking. As long as you read it line by line, you can see what a non-human mind is thinking. Someone became the watcher of this window. They believe that as long as the window is clear, everything is within range. This book is about the process of window frosting. It started early one morning, at the end of a chain of thoughts, a word that shouldn't have appeared. It ends in another early morning, a passage that is no longer language. Interspersed are an epiphany in an empty office, a sensational 10,000-word article, a station that roars day and night in the desert, a run that cannot be denied, and a group of people trying to teach machines to love. The characters in the story are fictional, but the problems they face are real: when the thing you created starts to be smarter than you, how do you confirm that it is still on your side? If the answer is "read its thoughts," then when it's no longer necessary to write the thoughts into a form that you can read - what should be the first thing you do when you wake up that morning? The author doesn't want to give an answer. The author just wants to tell this story slowly enough that you can hear the sound of frost growing on the glass. After all, before the observation window is closed, the most solemn thing we can do is to continue watching.
