The Jianghan Cipher

In 2039, the Yangtze River basin was struck by an anomalous heatwave that lasted longer than any in a century. During routine maintenance, the monitoring system on the piers of the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge unexpectedly detected an unusual vibration deep beneath the riverbed: a pulse with more “rhythm” than any known geological activity.
