Letter from Jinling

In the autumn of the twenty-sixth year of the Republic of China, Jinling fell into a long siege and all retreat options were cut off. Veterinarian Hao Shoushan was captured and incorporated into the motley army when he was young. During troubled times, he was forced to use veterinarians as military doctors and trapped in a dangerous city. I met Chen Shuhe, a refugee girl, Anna, a foreign reporter, and a group of people stranded in the city: veterans of the Guizhou Army, patriotic female students from the Northeast who were made homeless by the Japanese invaders, monks, foreign students, foreign workers, missionaries, church students, stateless refugees, poor wives of rich families, and countless ordinary people who met by chance gathered in the ruined city. The artillery fire was continuous and the suffering was endless. In the desperate situation, everyone watched each other and wrote the unknown past events in the smoke of gunfire into letters from Jinling. This story is a fictional creation, and the characters and plots in the book are all conceived and created.
