Huang Tian Zhang Jiao

I am Zhang Jiao, Julu Commoner. Seeing that the Han Dynasty was ignorant and tyrannical, and thousands of people were suffering from hunger, cold and oppression, I founded the Taiping Road and traveled around the world, using talismans and water to heal the sick and recruit many followers. In more than ten years, believers have spread across eight states. I have set up thirty-six parties to take charge of the people and wait for the opportunity. At the turn of the year, I shouted out, "Heaven is dead, Huang Tian shall stand." I called myself General Heavenly Lord, wore a yellow scarf on my head, and acted righteously. Suddenly the whole world responded, and the officers and soldiers retreated steadily. However, the rebellion was rushed, the tribesmen lacked battle experience, and the traitors leaked secrets, so the imperial court mobilized heavy troops to encircle and suppress them on all sides. At the juncture of the war, I was exhausted mentally and contracted an illness and died. After my death, the main force of the Yellow Turbans collapsed. Although the uprising failed, it destroyed the foundation of the Han Dynasty, and the troubled times began. What I want in my life has never been to become king or hegemon. I just want to work hard for all sentient beings and gain peace.
