Now That I’m Reborn, Why Would I Still Play a Bit Part?

In his past life, he drifted from one film set to another, playing bit parts until he was sick of it and eating boxed lunches until he couldn’t stand them anymore. He spent his whole life as a wage slave.

Reborn in 2004, just as the era of big-budget commercial films was getting underway, Li Xiaozheng decided to live differently.

He wouldn’t be an actor. He’d be a director!

He wouldn’t play bit parts. He’d be part of the creative team!

He had no System, only knowledge of the future in his mind and a range of professional skills honed over twenty-two years.

He earned a perfect score on the preliminary arts exam, astonishing a veteran department head at the Shanghai Theatre Academy.

He mortgaged an unused old house his family owned and plunged into soybean futures, turning two months’ work into 2.6 million yuan and earning his first pot of gold.

As Hollywood culture swept across the world, he would stand behind the camera in this life and tell stories that belonged to China.
