Differentiation

Lin Yan is 32 years old and has a doctorate in internal medicine of traditional Chinese medicine. He wrote papers, guides, and medical records beautifully; after entering the Juquan City Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, he was stopped by the bed of a patient with recurrent fevers. Zhou Jingshan, an old retired Chinese medicine doctor who had returned to the hospital, asked him: Was she cold before she had a fever? From that day on, Lin Yan began to relearn how to treat a patient. The examination told him where the danger was, and the classics reminded him what he had not seen; the pharmacist asked about safety, and the ICU doctor forced him to explain under what circumstances he had to admit that he was wrong. The nurses and family members kept telling him that patients do not only live in medical records. He gradually learned to differentiate and gained trust.
