My Future Diary Says I'm Marrying a Jerk

Zhou Yu pursued Gu Huai for three years, only to hear him say, "You went to a second-tier college outside the Double First-Class universities. You're not good enough for me."

That night, a diary from ten years in the future crashed into her life. It said she would get into Peking University, give up a million-yuan salary for him, and lose everything in their divorce after he cheated.

Zhou Yu burned the diary, changed her phone number, and threw herself into preparing for graduate school.

For the next three years, Gu Huai watched as the girl who had once been so humble she seemed to grovel at his feet did the opposite: she avoided every flirtatious advance from him, seized every opportunity with uncanny precision, and left every professor marveling, "She's more talented than students from Peking University itself."

At her graduation ceremony, Zhou Yu stood onstage as an outstanding graduate. In the audience sat Zhou Yu herself, freshly signed by a top tech company for a seven-figure salary. Meanwhile, Gu Huai, once Peking University's campus heartthrob, had to extend his studies.

After the ceremony, he stopped her, eyes red. "Zhou Yu, I was wrong."

Zhou Yu glanced at the diary in her bag, the one that reappeared every day. The newest page read: Today, he'll propose. Turn him down.

She held up her phone. The figure on her job offer was enough to silence everyone.

"Senior, you said I wasn't good enough for you back then. Now you're not good enough for me."

She turned and walked toward the flashes of the cameras. On the diary's final page, her future self had written one sentence:

"Thank you for rejecting me back then. It was the best gift I've ever received."
