Shang Lu: Records of Weird Events in the Ming Dynasty

In the 14th year of Zhengtong, eighteen corpses of river workers surfaced on the Yellow River beach. Shang Ren, the Imperial Attendant, was ordered to conduct an inspection and found that seventeen people had been poisoned and seven were missing fingers on their right hands, which were all neatly broken. They had been raped. Some people used human skin to make lamps, poisoned them with poisonous fish, and used explosives to silence them. Shang Ren followed the paper corner of the Yongchang and searched all the way to the capital.
