After the white tide, there was a kind of malfunction in the city that could not be written into the manual: the elevator would stop at a non-existent floor, the announcement would call out the name of the deceased, and the last subway would occasionally run to the station that was sealed twelve years ago. Others called them strange stories, but maintenance worker Gu Heng only saw trouble tickets one after another. He can see abnormal failure conditions, repair windows and costs, but he cannot make wishes out of thin air. To turn off a murderous broadcast, he must first find the rewritten line; to save the people in a building, he must personally dismantle the door that should not exist. Until one late-night emergency repair, Gu Heng saw his father's signature in the maintenance record - the signature was today, and his father had been missing for nine years. The biggest fault in this city has never been a strange story. Someone is not allowing it to be fixed.
