A strange plant catches the eye of the Zheng family's sea merchants; A wild tale draws him into the power struggles among foreigners; A band of orphans makes him the man they call “Ma Lao.” From a battered single-masted ship to a two-masted warship, and then a three-masted flagship, Huang Fei still never dreams of becoming a king or conqueror. But this era is like a colossal typhoon. Whether you want to or not, it will sweep you up. Either you drown, or you learn to keep your footing on the crest of the waves. He just wants to survive. But he becomes a pillar of support for a whole lot of rabble. I hate bombastic writing and stilted essays. I just wrote this for fun.
