A Lover in the Everyday World

Liang Qingyue loved Jiang Mi's gentle beauty and her sweet, understanding nature. He thought she was the perfect lover, and that their relationship could go on indefinitely.

That was until the night he decided to marry someone else. Snow fell over Jing City once again, and for the first time, Jiang Mi refused his kiss.

Her smile was especially captivating. "I heard you're getting married. Congratulations."

To Liang Qingyue, marriage and love were entirely separate. Marrying someone else would not affect his relationship with Jiang Mi.

Liang Qingyue remained arrogant, as certain as ever that he was entitled to her. "Don't take it to heart. If you miss me, come see me anytime."

But after that night, Jiang Mi vanished from his world without a trace.

His friend Zhou Cong'an returned to the country to start a business. After months in a daze, Liang Qingyue finally accepted that Jiang Mi had left him.

He went to the welcome-back dinner as invited, only to meet the gentle, considerate young love his friend had spoken of:

Liang Qingyue: "Your girlfriend?"

Zhou Cong'an: "She's my fiancée now."

At that moment, Jiang Mi held her friend's arm, smiling gently, her eyes full of tender affection for someone else.

Liang Qingyue could no longer stay silent. He looked her up and down, his smile mocking. "Oh? Your fiancée was still calling me 'darling' not long ago."
