Both Sides of Chaohe River

Dingcheng is a small city in the north. Fog formed on the canal, the cruise ship docked, and the four found the city empty. The houses are still there, the streets are still there, the signs are still there. But the person disappeared and twenty years passed. They are not in the city's future, nor its past. They passed through abandoned cities, passing caravans, warbands, mutated creatures and bones everywhere. They weren't here for anything, they just wanted to get to a place where they could stop. Some people told them that order was being restored in the south, some said that the nuclear power plant was still leaking, and some could not explain why they were alive. Most of their conversations were meaningless. They were nothing more than quarreling with each other, rehashing old scores, and telling jokes that could no longer be fulfilled.
