The Story of My Youth and Their Seasons

When I was eighteen years old, I went to Lanjiang University. I originally thought that college life was nothing more than attending classes, practicing swordplay, cooking at home, and taking care of Lin Zhixia, who lived across the door and was a university teacher but couldn't even cook a normal dinner. Until that evening that still smelled of midsummer, Lin Zhixia's sister, whom she hadn't seen for many years, dragged her luggage to Lanjiang, and everything began to quietly deviate from the original trajectory. Lake breeze, old streets, clock towers, kendo halls, convenience stores with lights still on in the early morning, and the ever-changing colors of Jinglan Lake throughout the year. Some people suddenly break into life, some come back from the distant past, and some people have always been standing by their side, but it is not until they grow up that they realize that the distance between them is no longer as simple as before. They will play, quarrel, hold an umbrella together on rainy days, and continue to live as if nothing has happened when they don't know what to do. Youth always seems to be like this - on the surface, it is lively like a summer that will never end, but the really important things are often hidden in an unfinished sentence, a subconsciously extended hand, and the empty space left after someone turns around. This is a story about love, choice, loss and growth among a group of young people in the city, campus and lakeside.
