The novel "Lost Sheep" tells in the first person the story of "I", a young man suffering from encephalopathy, who met and fell in love with the actress Xie Yueying while he was recuperating in City A on the north bank of the Yangtze River. The two got connected because of the drama, fell in love and eloped to Shanghai, but Xie Yueying finally left without saying goodbye, leaving me to pursue in pain to no avail, and eventually fell ill. Through delicate psychological description, the novel shows the protagonist's struggle between passion and reason, as well as the individual's loneliness and loss in the torrent of the times.
