Nowhere to Find in the Mountains

He carried an old lantern and illuminated every rock crevice in the mountains and fields. The villagers laughed at him as crazy: "Things that have been lost for thirty years have turned to dust long ago." He only shook his head: "She lost a shoe when she left. If she didn't find it, she would be lame in the next life." One night, the wind blew and the lantern fell into the deep stream. He chased it down and saw an embroidered shoe that had become rusty and turned into mud lying next to the withered bones - the other one was in his arms. It turned out that he was not looking for her, but remembering the way for her.
