The Age of Whale Fall

In the not-too-distant future, the earth has been engulfed by out-of-control "grey tide nanorobots", and the survivors can only live in an orbiting space station. In order to save oxygen and resources, all human beings must "sleep in turns" - each person has 16 hours a day to upload their consciousness to the virtual ocean "Abyss", and their bodies hibernate in the capsule. And when people die in the "Abyss", their consciousness will not disappear, but will collapse into a huge "data whale", becoming the fuel to maintain the operation of the entire virtual world. The protagonist is a "deep diver" who specializes in diving into "whale falls" to clean up data - his daily job is to dismember the remains of the consciousness of the deceased. Until one day, he discovered that the consciousness code of the largest sinking "whale" actually matched his still-living father (a top scientist classified as treason). In the data abyss, my father is using the energy of his "whale fall" to secretly build a brand new universe model - this model can actually reversely modify reality, allowing the "grey tide" on the ground to reweave into green vegetation.
