In 210 BC, Qin Shihuang collapsed in a sand dune, and the world collapsed. In the Qin Dynasty, both the Wei and Meng clans in Dangcheng were destroyed by Zhao Gaoyi. Wei Jiang took Meng Yi's youngest son Meng Ke and fled north, hiding among the herders on the Xiongnu grassland. Over the next year, Kai Liu sent Kai Hua's posthumous son Meng An to his home, and Kai Jiang adopted him as his adopted son.
Another year, when news of the incident in Daze Township arrived, Wei Jiang ordered Meng Ke to return south under the pseudonym Ma Ye and join Wei Jiu's army. The three tribes of the old Chu state, Qu, Jing, and Zhao, supported Xiong Fu as the king of Chu, and the state of Chu was restored to the capital of Ying.
Then the three tribes took advantage of the war in the Central Plains to conquer Jingchu, merge with Bashu in the west, conquer Wuyue in the east, and conquer Puyue in the south. By June 206 BC, half of the empire had been conquered.
In October, the King of Chu sent envoys to follow Qu Shu to attack Xianyang, and the three tribes agreed to allow Xiang Bo to inherit the Xiang family navy. Liu Bang paid Xianyang and Ziying, settled in Luoyang, and was granted the title of Marquis of Pei. His family members were kept in Yingdu as hostages. Xiang Yu refused to accept the order and claimed to be the king of Chu. He killed Han Guang and moved Yan Fu to join Qi and Lu. He eventually died in Linzi. Liu Bang asked himself to move to Linzi, using his military power to protect the Jing family. The nobles of the Six Kingdoms were either recruited, demoted, or relocated, and the institutional framework of co-governance by the three tribes was thus formed: Ling Yin was changed every three years, and the deployment of troops required verification by three parties, and the family members of the non-tribe generals were retained in the capital. In December, Xiong Fu gave a dead son and was buried in the southeast of Fenghuang Mountain.
In the first month of 205 BC, Xiong Fu ascended the altar to receive the seal, and the Chu Dynasty was established. In the summer of the same year, the King of Chu gave the Meng family a compound surname, and Meng Ke was appointed Yunzhong Saiwei. His mother Wei Jiang and his younger brother Meng An were held hostage in Yingdu.
"Ling Chu Ji" is a historical group portrait novel written in the first-person diary style. The first volume starts from Meng An's eyes, recording his old events in Nanting and experiencing the life of a servant.
