If Song Jiang Were to Choose Again

"If Song Jiang were to choose again - Walking for Heaven" is a chapter-length historical fictional novel based on the characters of "Water Margin" and starting from scratch. The story begins in the troubled times of the late Northern Song Dynasty, but it goes against the old path of being recruited and returning to the imperial court in the original work. It tells that the heroes of Liangshan, under the leadership of Song Jiang, built an altar on Mount Tai in the second year of Jianyan, and set up an "empty chair" to declare that "whoever sits on this chair is the enemy". From then on, he embarked on a third path of "substitute for heaven" instead of "sitting on the world". In the second year of Jianyan, an altar and chairs were built in Mount Tai, and in the first year of Shaoxing, the country was established. Song Jiang came to the altar and swore an iron law of "no hereditary inheritance": doing justice for heaven is a matter of justice, not the private property of any family or surname. In the following more than ten years, the six departments of Xingdao Mansion were established, tax exemptions were provided to the people, Mizhou was connected to the sea, and Liangshan used the "empty chair" as the guideline to create a pattern that was consistent with that of the Jin and Song Dynasties. In his twilight years, Song Jiang, who was a man of great pride and boldness, had been transformed into an old man in old white robes with frost-like hair on his temples after more than ten years of bearing the burden and pressure. The dark side of the prosperous age also began to show cracks at this time: the iron law of non-hereditary law caused the sons of Guan Biao, Hu Yanting and other heroes to question "Why does the blood on my body not count?"; Song Jiang heard the news and " remained silent", leaving a crack to the future. There are many characters in the book, each with their own characteristics: Yan Qing, Wu Yong, Lu Junyi, Guan Sheng, Hu Yanzhuo, Hua Rong, Chai Jin, Gongsun Sheng, etc. Were born out of the Water Margin and established new biographies; the second generation, such as Guan Biao, Hu Yanting, Hua Fengchun, and Zhang Chao, inherited the sword of their fathers and fell into their own difficulties, becoming the focus of conflicts in the new era.
