Tokyo: I’m Bound to a Go Prodigy

Tokyo | Romantic Slice of Life | Go | One Heroine | Childhood Friends Jingu Miyazaki Shin was born into a Tokyo family and is an ordinary Go enthusiast who spends his days hanging around the local dojo. His childhood friend, Shiraishi Rin, however, is hailed as a once-in-a-century Go prodigy with a shot at becoming a female Go Saint. One day, Jingu Miyazaki Shin suddenly discovers that whenever Shiraishi Rin studies Go seriously, he gains an equivalent amount of skill. When she studies joseki, he quickly grasps their variations. When she works on life-and-death problems, his calculation skills improve right along with hers. When she reviews the games of top players, his understanding of Go deepens little by little. No System, no quests, and no prompts of any kind. It's as if her hard work was always meant to become his strength. The harder Shiraishi Rin works, the stronger he gets. Watching the genius girl across the Go board, Jingu Miyazaki Shin falls into deep thought. So the secret to getting stronger is to make her play Go like her life depends on it? Until one day, after their game ends, Shiraishi Rin slumps over the board, baffled. “You're supposed to be an ordinary person. Why do you keep getting stronger?” Jingu Miyazaki Shin falls silent for a moment. “Because...” “Your thoughts seem to end up in my head.” “...Idiot!”
