I Went to Join the Army and Divorce Him, but the Moment We Met, My Sweetheart Was Kissed to Tears

[Historical era + winning back his wife] Five years ago, Song Wan ignored her family's disapproval and insisted on marrying Shen Muzhou, a man from a vastly different background who had come from a big city on a mission. She loved Shen Muzhou. To become worthy of him, she worked hard and spent five years studying medicine. But she also had to endure living apart from him. She sent him a letter every month. The stamps piled up in her room, proof of how much she loved him. But five years later, just as she finally received her diploma, a letter arrived telling her Shen Muzhou wanted a divorce! Song Wan boarded a train to the northwest that very night, hoping to save their marriage. Only then did she learn that Shen Muzhou had never loved her. He had agreed to marry her only to fend off pressure from his elders to settle down. All Song Wan's efforts had become a joke. She decisively chose to step aside and let Shen Muzhou go. “Fine, Shen Muzhou. I, Song Wan, will leave with my dignity intact. Once I sign, I won't bother you again.” She devoted herself to her military medical career and went out of her way to avoid Shen Muzhou, yet somehow became the most popular woman in the army compound. The soldiers flocked to the infirmary just to feast their eyes on her. The children would only let the pretty, pampered military doctor give them shots. Even the relatives and older women in the compound, including her mother-in-law, rushed to introduce her to new men as soon as they heard she was divorced. Shen Muzhou pinned her against a wall, his face dark, and leaned down to kiss her, only for her to push him away. Song Wan sneered. “I agreed to the divorce. Why are you still unhappy?” Shen Muzhou: “Song Wan, have you wanted to leave me all along? You can leave only over my dead body!”
