Starting from the Mandrill, Temples Were Built to Enshrine Gods.

In the mountains and plains of the Wei Dynasty, heaven and the imperial court jointly controlled the sacred way, and spirits were not allowed to build temples to receive incense. A one-legged mandrill who was chased to the verge of death by monks escaped into an abandoned mountain temple and accidentally obtained the incomplete incense and sacred diagram. In order to survive, it can only pretend to be gods and ghosts, save woodcutter, collect incense, repair dilapidated temples, and gradually transform from a wild spirit into a temple guardian spirit under the half-hearted worship of the villagers. But a stick of incense is a refuge, and a temple is also a chain. As the incense spreads, the spirits return, and the Monster Slayer approaches, Mandrill gradually discovers that the so-called "spirits are not allowed to become gods" is not a rule of heaven, but an old rule written by heaven and the court. At first it just wanted to live, then it wanted to protect its followers and subordinates, and finally it wanted to ask the world's monsters: If humans can become gods, why can't all the spirits in the mountains and wild fields?
