Autumn Fence Cardamom

There is a bamboo fence in her yard, and cardamom flowers are in full bloom every autumn. The neighbor's grandma always said to her through the fence: "The cardamom is ripe, it's time to get married." She smiled and said nothing. Later, she married in a foreign country. On the day she left, she broke off a sprig of cardamom and pinned it on her luggage. When she returned to her hometown forty years later, the fence was still there, the cardamom was still there, but her grandma was gone. She was standing outside the fence, and a child ran out and asked, "Grandma, who are you looking for?" She said, "I'm looking for my fifteen-year-old self." The kid pointed at the fence and said, "There she is, look, the cardamom flowers are blooming." She squatted down and cried like she was before she got married.
