Supernatural: It Begins with a Human Face

Lu Xun was trapped on a mountain road on his way back to school. An hour passed. He walked two kilometers, but no matter what, he couldn't get out.

A ghostly maze.

He put on a black mask carved with the character for “human,” an heirloom left by his grandfather and the token his father had passed down to the next “Human Face.”

The mask told him: Resolve one supernatural incident within seven days.

Then a car pulled up beside him, offering a ride. The driver's voice was young. He said he wanted someone to talk to. But his body was ice-cold. The car reeked of something burnt, and wind whistled through a leak in the windshield.

“There's a photo of my daughter in the back seat. You can take a look.”

Lu Xun felt for the photo. Its edges were curled and scorched.

He closed his eyes, trying his best to play the part of a blind man.

“Go on, look. Why did you stop?”

The voice was right beside his ear. A hand came to rest on his shoulder.

The car kept moving.

Only later did Lu Xun learn that there are things in this world you can't escape just because you want to.
