Preface The first year of Zhihe, 1328 AD, was the capital of the Yuan Dynasty. Emperor Taiding's grandson Temu'er died suddenly, and the eight-year-old prince Asu Jiba was hastily proclaimed emperor by Prime Minister Pulasha, and was known as Emperor Tianshun in history. In most areas, Yan Timur, an old minister of Emperor Wu Zong, launched a coup and supported Tutemur on the throne, and a vigorous war broke out between the two capitals. In the official history, the Xanadu regime was overthrown in just over forty days, and the young master Aso Jiba disappeared mysteriously and disappeared into the dust of history, becoming the most tragic victim of the Yuan Dynasty's struggle for the throne. Wang He, a doctor of modern archeology, is deeply involved in Mongol and Yuan archeology, the history of nomadic civilization, and the textual research of Yuan Dynasty cultural relics. While conducting archaeological exploration at the Shangdu Old City ruins in Zhenglan Banner, Inner Mongolia, he encountered a rare geomagnetic storm, dislocated time and space, and suddenly fell into Shangdu City where the war was about to begin in 1328. The entire story abandons romantic narratives and revolves around court intrigues, archaeological research, institutional innovation, war games, and reflection on civilization.
