Three thousand years after the Great Collapse, the Chaos Seal on the Arctic’s eternally frozen wasteland is crumbling, and purple corruption is silently sweeping across the seven continents of Aesos. The lowest-ranking knights in northern strongholds, ordinary soldiers guarding the frontier, and down-on-their-luck captains struggling to survive on the open sea are the first to notice the signs of the apocalypse: mutated beasts and eerie purple markings. Yet the powerful of every nation are consumed by infighting and putting on a show of peace. They deliberately conceal the truth of the disaster, letting the crisis spread unchecked. When the sea routes reopen, the apocalypse can no longer be hidden. The fractured civilizations hastily unite for a northern campaign, only to be crippled by internal strife and routed across the board. One continent after another sinks beneath the waves, and civilization teeters on the brink of extinction.
