I Am the Great Sword Immortal. What’s Wrong with Being Your Master?

The Xuanhuang Continent.

For a million years, humans and demons have fought over the spiritual veins of the Wanping Plains. They decide the victor once every hundred years atop Duanyue Mountain, and now the contest has reached its 9,999th edition.

Everyone knows the stories.

The human race’s “History’s One Sword Lord,” Baiyi, is clad in white as pure as snow, and can cleave mountains and rivers with a single strike. He is the pillar that anchors humanity’s fortune.

The demon race’s “Overlord Demon Ancestor” is peerless in might and immune to all arts, a nightmare that terrifies every cultivator.

They have fought a thousand battles, each ending in a dead heat, and are hailed as the twin peaks of humans and demons.

The 9,999th battle once again ended in a draw,

so

both races agreed that the next contest would be left to the rising generation to decide the victor.

The entire continent threw itself into preparations, selecting its finest talents, while mighty experts took on disciples and passed down their teachings.

Only the two big shots were panicking: Oh no! Are our carefree days of slacking over?

History’s One Sword Lord: “I’m a mighty sword immortal at the Tribulation Transcendence Realm. So what if I want to be your master? What gives you the right to look down on me?”

Overlord Demon Ancestor: “You ungrateful disciple! Let your master have some peace! I’ve given you techniques, magical treasures, and pills. Go figure things out on your own!”

A scheming sword lord + a wooden-headed, honest disciple vs. a slacker demon ancestor + a fiercely loyal star pupil
