Issues of Principle

The father, an auditor, has adhered to financial standards all his life, but on the eve of his retirement, he discovered a huge amount of false accounts in his son's company. He handed over the evidence to the supervisory department with his own hands, then turned and walked into his son's office: "The principles of the law have been fulfilled. Now we must fulfill the principles of my father - I will take the blame for you." When the siren sounded, he pulled out another real ledger. Over the past twenty years, he had silently filled in the gaps for his son's every mistake.
