Those Who Study Magic Are Not Good People

In an era when the gods are silent, heroes have become obsolete and adventure has become a joke in history books. The Empire of Tiras replaced the old world of swords and sorcery with railroads, commerce, and order. The temple is in power, magic has a price tag, monsters can negotiate, and elves and dwarves are forced to learn civilization. But when the ancient shadow from the region reawakens, all the rules that the empire is proud of begin to shake. Outside the border wasteland, the ancient magic university welcomed a group of problem students: Trissiny, the paladin chosen by the goddess, Gabriel, the half-human and half-demon boy, gentle but powerful Toby, girls from foreign races and foreign countries, and an elf mage with a bad temper that could scare away ancient gods. They originally only wanted to learn magic, fighting and how to become qualified adventurers, but they were involved in the chess game between gods, empires, demons, churches and conspirators. The heroic spirit of the old era has been forgotten by the world, but a new disaster has come. When the gods no longer respond to the prayers of humble men, mortals can only draw their swords themselves.
