A Knight-Errant’s Own Story

When Xiao Yuntian, a disciple of Xiaoyao Valley, turned eighteen, his master gave him a jade pendant engraved with the words “Heavenly Dragon” and revealed the truth about his parents’ tragic deaths. The clues led straight to the mysterious western-region power known as the Heavenly Dragon Cult. Swearing to avenge his parents, the young man left the valley with his sword and entered the martial world.

Upon arriving in Luoyang, he met Xiao Yao, a member of the Beggars’ Sect. The two became sworn brothers. Hoping to improve his martial arts, Xiao Yuntian became a disciple of Ke Jianglong, the former leader of the Beggars’ Sect. After enduring three grueling trials, he finally mastered the peerless technique known as the Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms.

Later, with help from the Beggars’ Sect branch in Dunhuang, they infiltrated the Heavenly Dragon Cult’s headquarters and rescued Li Cangtian, who had been imprisoned for twenty years. As he lay dying, Li Cangtian entrusted his daughter to Xiao Yuntian and passed on to him the Daoist supreme inner cultivation manual, the Longevity Scripture.

In a secret chamber in Hidden Dragon Valley, Xiao Yuntian found shocking evidence left behind by his uncle, Xiao Yunhe: a list of spies embedded in the major sects of the Central Plains. Shaolin, Wudang, Qingcheng, the Tang Clan... nearly every prestigious orthodox sect had been infiltrated by the Heavenly Dragon Cult. Just as he was preparing to return to the Central Plains and unite the sects, his close companion Tang Wubing, consumed by love turned to hatred, betrayed their whereabouts to the Heavenly Dragon Cult. Xiao Yuntian was captured by Helian Tieshu and thrown into a dungeon, but was saved at the cost of her life by “Yasha,” another daughter of Li Cangtian.

After escaping, Xiao Yuntian returned to Luoyang with the list. Ke Jianglong convened a martial arts assembly and exposed 137 spies in front of everyone, uniting the martial world of the Central Plains against their common enemy. The Heavenly Dragon Cult’s army of 100,000 marched east, and the decisive battle took place outside Luoyang. Using the Longevity Scripture to unleash the Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms, Xiao Yuntian fought through countless troops, killed Li Canglong, and rescued Wuxiazi, who had been held hostage, bringing this martial-world upheaval to an end.
