Great Wall Night Watch

On Yingzui Cliff in the twelfth lunar month, 18-year-old military householder Chen Yan learned the rules of the night watchman: the last word of the day must be "Nothing to do tonight." But he soon discovered that the Great Wall under the beacon tower was no ordinary city wall - the salt seeping out of the cracks in the stones would glow, the voice coming from the underground would call his name, and the half-crystallized face of the master was the common fate of the night watchmen.
