Chronicles of the Dragon and Fox

They say that once upon a time...

The countryside was still close at hand, and stories were still new.

Immortals, gods, ghosts, and monsters shared a world without clear boundaries, while the human realm and the netherworld mingled together.

Dragons still brought rain, plants could speak, and foxes could marry humans.

People still believed in reincarnation, in good and evil being rewarded, and in the just workings of Heaven’s way.

Indeed, it was more or less like that: a fantastical tale of strange happenings, set in an imaginary ancient China, where reason did not always apply.
