A Shop by the Graves: I Restore the Balance Between Yin and Yang by Tending the Dead

Other people get broken engagements from the start. She gets a knock at the grave. Shen Qingluo is a registered gravekeeper at Huaiyin Slope. Her main business is keeping watch at night, relocating graves, writing land-purchase deeds, and investigating debts to the dead. Her side business is catching living people who refuse to pay up. Prices are clearly marked, and no credit is offered. The ancestral grave has been weeping for seven nights? Investigate it. A coffin is borrowing someone's lifespan in the middle of the night? Investigate it. A paper bride returns to her family home to cry out for justice? Investigate it. The occult sect's big shots think she's bad luck? Sorry, get in line. The dead are waiting to have their grievances heard. All she wanted was to save enough money to relocate her adoptive father's grave. But one job leads to another, drawing her into an escaped evil spirit from the Nether Abyss, old contracts with the Occult Bureau, and a hidden hand among the righteous. Later, the living fear her settling accounts, the dead hope she'll speak up, and the great figures of the occult sect who claim to represent the Dao finally realize: This little gravekeeper who squats by tombs collecting payment every day has never been guarding just one grave. She's guarding the last rules governing the worlds of the living and the dead.
