Lin Beichen died in the third year of the war. Before he died, he remembered more things than any military textbook: the actual time it took for the enemy's engineering troops to build a bridge on the west bank of the river, the precise intervals between daily shifts of the opponent's 3rd Armored Brigade's logistics convoy, the evidence that his own intelligence system had been penetrated - and the real battle situation that the high command had never communicated to the grassroots. He thought they would be buried in the crater with him. Then he woke up. Time: Six months before the war broke out. Location: Headquarters of a mechanized infantry company. The bugle sounded as usual. He still has six months to train a group of new recruits who now can't even buckle their body armor.
