Night Fire as Edict

The Ye Dynasty has been in existence for three hundred years, and it is said that "the lights will not go out, and the world will not be in chaos." The protagonist, Shen Zhao, is a low-level book editor in the Tibetan Liyuan Academy, responsible for sorting out the remaining scrolls of the previous dynasty. He accidentally discovered that the "fire from heaven" in the legend of the founding of the dynasty might be false. The so-called destiny back then was actually a palace coup and city burning that was covered up. What's even more frightening is that today, three hundred years later, the same star phenomenon appears again. The imperial court is preparing to use the "Return of Heavenly Fire" to launch a purge to depose the prince, kill the gentry, and reshape the country. The protagonist only has a volume of residual history, an old lamp, and a bloodline from the previous dynasty that should not have survived.
