The Art of Meridian Medicine

4,700 years ago, in the late era of the Yellow Emperor, tribal conflicts erupted and warfare raged without end. The physician Yu Fu practiced medicine on the Battle of Zhuolu for eleven years, saving thousands of lives through his own efforts. By chance, he discovered a hidden channel of vital energy between the body's muscles and nerves, which he called the “void meridians.” These channels could precisely detect the will and healing power deep within a person. Building on this discovery, Yu Fu created The Art of Meridians. But because his work threatened the foundations of orthodox medicine, Right Minister Gongsun maliciously framed him. Yu Fu was imprisoned twice and endured the punishments of nose-cutting and leg-amputation, yet he never abandoned his devotion to healing. Bearing his humiliation in a dark prison, he wrote this medical masterpiece that was far ahead of its time.

At the time, historian Cang Jie hid the first volume of The Art of Meridians in a secret chamber at Linglan. He erased all records of Yu Fu from official history, and Yu Fu was ultimately lost to the ages. The second volume, along with accounts of Yu Fu omitted from the official histories, was secretly hidden by historian Ju Song deep in the Qilian Mountains. He copied only some secret methods of meridian acupuncture and clues to the hidden texts, entrusting them to folk shamans so they could be passed down to future generations.

4,700 years later, in Beicheng. Guan Shuyao, a graduate student at a college of traditional Chinese medicine, is set up and comes across the text on a fragment of bamboo slip. Behind this seemingly ordinary fragment lies the scheme of a mysterious organization. They plan to exploit her unusual origins to find where The Art of Meridians is hidden, then seize this medical classic of the ages. From then on, Guan Shuyao is drawn into a deadly hunt spanning a thousand years, gradually uncovering a buried medical legend and the tangled secrets of power behind it.
