I Asked You to Appraise Treasures, Not Find Bargains and Become the World's Richest Man

Ye Guihong, a recent graduate with an ordinary history degree, lands a job at an antiques shop called Boguzhai. On his boss’s orders, he heads to the countryside to buy antiques, where a group of rural treasure hunters refuses to leave him alone. Fortunately, he awakens a God-Tier Appraisal System that can see through the authenticity and value of any object. He successfully finds hidden gems and sets out on the road to becoming the richest man in the world! A jade cicada worth six million? Sorry, this is worth only six thousand! A battered, incomplete coin that turns out to be a signed Yuan Shikai dollar, worth hundreds of thousands! An inexpensive famille-rose bird-and-flower vase that turns out to be a custom piece made for the Tongzhi Emperor’s wedding, worth over a million! Double-layered paintings, collaged paintings, and all kinds of antiques never heard of before, so hard to tell from fakes, begin to appear! Counterfeiting rings, tomb raiders, antique dealers... One secretive force after another comes to light. Reporter: Mr. Ye, how did you develop such a keen eye at such a young age? You’ve been appraising treasures for years and have never once made a mistake! Ye Guihong: To be honest, I’m not especially talented. Everything I’ve achieved today is thanks to hard work and sweat!
