White Clothes Enter the Huaihe River

"White Clothes Entering the Huaihe River" is a historical medical novel inspired by the century-old history of Anhui Medical University. The school's predecessor began as Southeast Medical University founded in Shanghai in 1926. After several moves and name changes, it moved from the banks of the Huangpu River to the Jianghuai River, and finally took root in Anhui and developed into today's Anhui Medical University. The novel uses the fictional "Donglan Medical College" as the carrier and the young medical student Cheng Wangchuan's study, growth and medical practice experience as the main line. It depicts the process of a generation of medical young people pursuing medical ideals and understanding the responsibilities of doctors amidst war, migration, disease and local reality. The work is not a simple retelling of the history of the school, but hopes to use literary methods to present the spiritual inheritance of "learning hard and practicing hard, cultivating good doctors" in the 100-year history of Ann Medical College. The characters in the book are all fictitious, but they embody the spirit of generations of Anyi people who worked hard to run schools, save lives and heal the wounded, and take root in Jianghuai.
