The Tansy Case

A horrific case dismissed as an accident shatters Yu Rong's youth. Her parents die with their names in disgrace, with no way to appeal and justice nowhere in sight. The pain etched into her very bones ultimately leads her to take up a scalpel. On the cold autopsy table, she searches for every concealed scrap of truth, seeking both to comfort the dead and to resolve the obsession that has consumed half her life. There is no way back from this path. Loneliness, rejection, and darkness close in around her. Several times, on the brink of collapse, she considers ending her life, until she meets Qing Lu. He brings warmth back into her life. He is the only light in her darkness, standing by her as she faces the evil in people's hearts and taking on every danger for her as they seek justice together through the fog. Yu Rong smiles and tells him that she has a beloved, her “white moonlight”: the truth. In the end, she gives her life for the truth, but tells him, “I'm afraid of dying, but I'm more afraid that the people who are crying won't find the light, that the door in the darkness will never open.” After she is gone, Qing Lu holds on to her beliefs, until he dies a glorious death and goes to see her.
