The Remnants of Wangbei

During the Tongguang period of the Later Tang Dynasty after the Five Dynasties, Guo Ziheng, a poor scholar from Yanmen, joined the shogunate of Jin King Li Cunxu. After three years of silence, he came up with a strategy of "detour to destroy Liang". Two years later, he destroyed Qianshu in seventy days, achieving an unparalleled feat. However, his great achievements shocked the master. Empress Liu, the actress Jing Jin, and the eunuch Li Congxi formed a trap network between Luoyang and Chengdu. Under the dual pressure of the eunuch's bewitchment and his mother's secret letter, Li Jiji, the nominal commander of the expedition to Shu, ordered the execution of Guo Ziheng and his five sons. Su Wanyue, a female officer of Shangyi Bureau, was ordered by Queen Liu to monitor Guo Ziheng, but secretly recorded every moment of his silence and loneliness. Before his death, Guo Ziheng entrusted her with the manuscripts he had written throughout his life. Su Wanyue took the manuscript out of Shu and opened "Nanhuai Book Store" in Bianjing, guarding the manuscript throughout his life. Guo Ziheng's surviving son Guo Tinghui came to Nanhuai Bookstore and made a career of copying books. Troubled times changed, with the fall of the Later Tang Dynasty, the establishment of the Later Jin Dynasty, the rise of the Later Han Dynasty, and the replacement of the Later Zhou Dynasty. Feng Dao took the manuscript to Khitan and died on the grassland. The manuscript ended up at Nanhuai Book Store. Decades later, Su Wanyue, now gray-haired, was still guarding the library and the manuscript. A counselor used scheming to seek peace and died on the way to seek peace; a woman guarded his voice throughout her life, letting it pass through troubled times and reach the hands of future generations.
