Great Tang: A Call Across Time, Convincing Changle to Break Off Her Engagement from the Start

Lin Huai, a recent college graduate, got a call from an unknown number just before bed. A girl's voice came through, choked with tears. “Are you an immortal? I don't want to marry my cousin...” Lin Huai was stunned. Marrying your cousin? Wasn't that downright inhuman? Outraged, he said, “Break off the engagement! You have to! If you were standing in front of me, I'd call the police for you right now!” Then the call suddenly disconnected. Lin Huai cursed under his breath and went to sleep. The phone rang again the next morning. Still half asleep, Lin Huai answered, thinking it was the girl from last night, and immediately tried to talk her out of it. “Listen to me, you have to break off the engagement!” There was a brief silence. Then a steady male voice said, “I am Li Shimin.” “Huh?” Lin Huai laughed. “You're Li Shimin? Then I'm Qin Shi Huang. Send me money!” “You want to kill me too? My address is xxxxxx.” The call ended. An hour later, a video call popped up. Lin Huai answered without thinking. A round little face appeared on the screen, and a childish voice called out, “Little husband~” Three years old, soft and sweet, unbelievably adorable. Lin Huai stared at the palace on screen, so lifelike it seemed real, and listened to the maids calling the little one by a title. Your Highness? His mind snapped fully awake. So that really had been Li Shimin on the phone? Well, this was awkward.
