The Craftsman of the Mortal World

In 2149, Kunlun City in the heart of Huaxia is the central hub of the “Heavenly Craft for Humanity” project. Cutting-edge technologies such as controlled nuclear fusion, quantum computers, and bionic machines have given humanity abundant energy and control over disease. Interstellar mining ships travel between Earth and the Moon, and the age of hardship has become a thing of the past. What makes all this possible is the globally connected “Heavenly Craft for Humanity” symbiotic system. It integrates satellite networks, quantum hubs, ecological regulation grids, and many other systems to manage the climate, energy, healthcare, and transportation, yet it never loses sight of the simple warmth of everyday life. Twenty-seven-year-old Lin Shen is a junior operations technician at the Heavenly Craft Ecological Regulation Center. He majored in ecological regulation and intelligent systems maintenance, and is responsible for monitoring ecological nodes in Kunlun City and the surrounding area. His work is ordinary but important: checking monitoring data, fixing minor malfunctions, and rescuing injured wildlife. At dawn, the Heavenly Craft System wakes him with a gentle chime, and the public dining hall prepares a low-sugar, nutritious breakfast to suit his health. On his commute, magnetic-levitation buses run in orderly fashion, hallway lights turn on as people pass, and the System keeps a real-time watch over the health of the elderly. At work, he carefully checks every ecological reading, promptly fixes a sensor failure that has left vegetation in the Western Hills short of water, and rescues an injured little squirrel. Lin Shen has seen the desolation and hardship of a century ago, and understands better than anyone how hard-won today’s peace is. He knows that “Heavenly Craft for Humanity” brings warmth, kindness, health, and harmony to people, makes life shine, and ushers in a new era for humanity!
