Iron-Blooded March Through Sichuan

In 1937, full-scale war broke out. Japanese invaders trampled across China, leaving the land devastated and its people suffering. Long Wei Guo, an ordinary young man from Sichuan who grew up by the Jialing River, was inspired by the Sichuan Army's battle flag, which bore the word "Death." Burning with a desire to defend his homeland, he resolutely said farewell to his aging parents and newlywed wife, abandoned his peaceful life, and joined the Sichuan Army, vowing to protect his country with his own flesh and blood. Alongside thousands of young men from Sichuan, he wore thin clothes and straw sandals and carried an old bolt-action rifle. They had no proper equipment or adequate supplies, yet marched thousands of miles on foot, crossing mountains and rivers to reach the frontline, where the flames of war raged. From the smoke-shrouded Battle of Shanghai to the brutal defense of Nanjing, Long Wei Guo grew through a baptism of bullets. He watched row after row of his comrades fall, their bodies standing against the Japanese guns. Despite being hopelessly outmatched in equipment and abandoned on the battlefield, the Sichuan Army never retreated. After countless battles to the death, Long Wei Guo rose from an ordinary young man to a battle-hardened regimental commander, leading his men to hold their ground and fight the enemy with all their might. With the courage and sense of duty of the Sichuan Army, he endured the Japanese bombardment and held the line, honoring the vow that "the Sichuan Army will never fail the nation" with his blood. In the hour of national peril, he wrote a stirring chapter of Sichuan's sons defending their country to the death, their bones unbroken.
