Hidden Stories from the Underground

You wake up in a world one mile underground, but not with nothing. You still carry with you the eternal ignorance and wisdom, greed and conscience of mankind. Everything is no different, you will see mountains, rivers, birds, beasts, and even a sea; you will eat when you feel hungry, and run away when you sense danger; you will cover your face and cry in pain, or laugh to the sky with excitement; you will bleed and get injured, but the boundary between death and survival is not very clear, but it has never been so clear. Death has never been so short, and in just half a glass of brandy, you will find yourself standing penniless on a wooden boat, with an old, eyeless boatman on board urging you to get off the boat. Ever since, death is no longer the end. After a brief death, you may make some devils, clay men, rat men, or even tigers, as well as other new friends or enemies that are not consistent with your human appearance. But other than that, the world below is no different. After all, the city goes on as usual, the machines roar as usual, the sheriff's baton swings overhead, and the hawker's spit threatens your cheeks. You will live as usual, go to work as usual, indulge in alcohol as usual, and be greedy for money as usual... Only inadvertently will you realize that there is no sunshine above your head, and the night will last forever.
