Orphan on the Moon

Yuanwa, a boy whose parents have not returned home and whose grandmother has passed away, learns about the "moon" for the first time from his teacher in a dilapidated rural classroom - a distant gray planet full of craters. The moon has since become his spiritual sustenance. He fabricated a lie to his only partner Jiang Jiang: his parents were doing scientific research on the moon, and he would go to them on a rocket when he grew up. Jiang Jiang didn't ask whether it was true or not, he believed it silently and made a promise to meet him again. At the age of fifteen, Yuanwa went to the city to work in order to go to the "moon" and lived a difficult and repetitive life in a brick factory. He continued to use lies to maintain contact with Jiang Jiang, sending "moon stones" and red scarves picked up by the roadside to guard his youthful promise. Later, Jiang Jiang moved and lost contact. Yuanwa kept guarding his cell phone number for more than ten years, paid his phone bills on time, saved up a thick stack of receipts, and never gave up waiting.
