Satie Thanatos never imagined that one day he would be burned at the stake. He is just an inconspicuous adventurer in a border town. He relies on finding corpses for others, tracing the causes of death, and begging for food. But during a commission, in order to save his companions, he had to reveal his true power. Necromancy. So, exposure, trial, and burning all fell on him overnight. The moment the city gate closed behind her, Sadie lost everything in her past. Identity, companions, destination, and even the very thing of survival have become a luxury. And the only thing he had left was an evil-mouthed little green devil and a book of the dead that recorded taboos. From then on, he could only walk with corpses, whisper with the souls of the dead, and find his way between wilderness, ruins and forbidden places. The church called him a heretic, the empire called him a calamity. But what Sadie wanted in the first place was actually just to survive.
