Dance of the Nano Swarm

In 2106, humanity’s first unmanned interstellar research vessel, the Seeder, was under construction in low Earth orbit.

Pierre, a young genius engineer at the European Space Agency, oversaw the ship’s nanobot swarm damage-control system with ironclad discipline and precision. He believed that straight lines were the truth and perfection was eternal.

Then one day, during an academic debate, Camille, a brilliant but unhinged mathematician who taught at École Polytechnique, burst into his world.

Using topology and chaos theory, she tore apart his perfect model and told him, “Perfection is a tombstone. Chaos is life.”

From chalk graffiti on a Montmartre rooftop to the soft-boiled egg metaphor in the laboratory; from the streets of Paris to a space center in South America, the two went from arguing to compromising, from supporting each other to losing each other.

He upheld order; she loved chaos. He built steel; she gave it a soul.

When the lone ship sets out for Epsilon Eridani, 10.5 light-years away, to cross 55 years of deep-space silence, unknown dangers, and eternal solitude, will the nanobot swarm they created together learn how to survive amid chaos? Will it be able to dance and whirl through deep space?

Two utterly different souls, and a love that spans the stars.

Steel and silk collide; order and chaos coexist.

This is not only humanity’s voyage into the distance, but also the story of an engineer and a mathematician, and their journey through love, growth, and eternity!
